Columnist Anne Elizabeth has a graphic novel releasing with Dynamite Entertainment in July 2010. Pulse of Power is a superhero's journey from ordinary to extraordinary when a Greenwich, CT gal is thrust into situations beyond her control. She must engage magical powers, battle big bad nasties, and believe in herself if she is to survive the trial. Because when it comes to good and evil, and life's enormous pursuits, destiny...is a choice.
Power up with Anne Elizabeth's Pulse of Power. The creative team is spear-headed by former DC editor Alisa Kwitney, who was assistant editor and letter columns writer on Neil Gaiman's Sandman and author of Sandman: The King of Dreams. The cover art is by Brett Booth, who drew Laurell K. Hamilton, Dean Koontz, and Jim Butcher's books. Internal art is being drawn by Márcio Fiorito, who is also working on the new Xena comic, and of course the RT BOOKreviews columnist Anne Elizabeth, who wrote the story and had a marvelous time creating new types of monsters and thinking up magical happenings for this bold contemporary realm.
In Pulse of Power, a graduate of The Academy, an exclusive school for girls, Tia DeVere Stanton learned early that proper young ladies don't curse. But knowing a curse or two would certainly come in handy, since Tia spends her days as a stockgirl at Vivant, the sentient supernatural store, and moonlights as a monster-hunting vigilante. But now Tia's jobs - and her life - are about to get a lot more complicated. All of a sudden, she has strange new powers. The dangerously seductive stranger who keeps invading her dreams has just walked into her life. And a powerful enemy is about to strike her in the most unexpected and vulnerable of places. Her heart.
"When being powerful means stepping up and facing the truth, even if it means handling magic that rips through the body like lightning. Facing an unpredictable enemy and new breeds of creature takes more than snappy one-liners. It takes guts. PULSE OF POWER reminds us all...destiny is a choice,” said Elizabeth.
